The national recession has been hard on families and small businesses all across the country. In Ohio, we're working to improve our economy by finding ways to help create jobs now while also investing in education to create jobs for tomorrow.-House Speaker Armond Budish - Confronting Challenges with Common-Sense LeadershipWhile other states have cut critical services, Ohio has protected those hardest hit in this tough national economy. While other states have made deep cuts to education, Ohio has invested in our schools and kept college tuition low. While other states have raised taxes to address budget shortfalls, Ohio has reduced spending and kept taxes low to ensure that small businesses can grow and thrive. The challenges for many Ohioans are still great, but House Democrats are working to combat the effects of the national recession by focusing on thoughtful, common-sense ways to create jobs, strengthen our economy and protect hard-working Ohio families. |
